Military Bio

Lieutenant (LT) David R. Lockwood, a Chaplain Corps officer and native of Overland Park, Kansas, graduated summa cum laude from Regis University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and as a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu honor society. Answering the call to ministry, he attended Liberty University, earning a Master of Theological Studies in 2019, completing one unit of clinical pastoral education at Baylor, Scott and White Medical Center, and earning a Master of Divinity degree with honors from The King’s University in 2020.

Lockwood first enlisted as a Specialist in the Army National Guard on September 11, 2015. He graduated Basic Training with C Company, 2-47th Infantry Battalion at Fort Benning, Georgia, and was assigned to the 947th Engineer Company in Montrose, Colorado. Lockwood’s ministry experience facilitated a transfer to the Navy where he was commissioned as an Ensign on February 7, 2017. He graduated Direct Commission Officer Indoctrination Course in 2018, attended Chaplain Candidate Orientation Course in 2019 and is currently assigned to Navy Chaplain Corps Personnel Command in Millington, Tennessee.
